Bostock to join on loan?

There are rumours flying all around the internet (OK, just some messageboards here and there) that claim that Tottenham midfield John Bostock is joining Brentford on loan. These rumours seem to have started on a Spurs fan messageboard (I’d link you to it but you have to register to view and not even I can be bothered), and have popped up on some random messageboard and the BBC 606 boards.

Now of course this does seem to be just a bit of speculation, but it would seem plausible. Bostock is not 18 until January (thanks Soccerbase) and isn’t anywhere near their first team after his move from Crystal Palace as a 16 year old, so getting him out on loan would make good sense for his development. Moreover, he’s a midfielder, an attacking and creative one at that. We desperately need someone like that, because as much as I like Marcus Bean, Kevin O’Connor and David Hunt, none are especially creative, and the latter two are not especially attacking, even if O’Connor is one of our top scorers this season.

Anyway, I’d not be surprised if this one actually happened, but I’d be surprised if it happened quickly enough to allow Bostock to feature in tomorrow’s game at home to Millwall. Maybe we’ll get him in, get permission for him to play in the FA Cup and give him a debut at home to Gateshead in the replay? Would be a good opportunity to try a couple of things out given how we theoretically should be the superior team and should win the match.
