About
Hello.
As you can probably guess, this is a blog about Brentford FC, a football team based in Brentford, West London. Brentford currently play in the third tier of English football, League One, having won League Two in the 2008/09 season.
This blog is mainly going to react to recent events, like matches, transfers, players announcing what cereal they have for breakfast, that sort of thing really. If you want to know more about Brentford and the club’s history, location and stuff then it might be best to brush up a bit elsewhere (and then come back here afterwards, obviously).
The official Brentford FC website, www.brentfordfc.co.uk, obviously carries the latest official news, information about fixtures, player profiles, ticket prices and details, an online shop and various other things that you would expect from such a website. Wikipedia also has a fairly useful page on Brentford, found here, and the Bees even have their own wiki, Beespedia.
However, according to the website header, the Griffin Park Grapevine (www.griffinpark.org) is the largest and busiest Brentford FC website and messageboard, and to be fair it is rather excellent. If you’re after the latest transfer rumours, reaction to players coming/going/staying, match reports and people pointing out that there is no U in Karleigh Osborne, then the GPG is a good place to visit. After this place of course.
Me? My name is Nick, and I am a Brentford season ticket holder, sitting in the New Road/Bill Axbey Stand. Although I very very rarely miss a home match, I don’t get along to as many away matches as I would like, something that I hope to change this season, what with a few more local(ish) matches than in previous seasons. My favourite ever Brentford player is almost certainly Jay Tabb, and my least favourite Paul Brooker. Away from football I like music (I also blog occasionally about that here), various other sports, photography (some of my better photos can be found on my Flickr page) and eating chips. And if for some reason you want to know even more, or want to tell me that this blog is good/bad/fair to middling, you can email me at nickgreenan@gmail.com.
But yeah, I hope that you enjoy reading this blog, and enjoy learning more about the wonderful world of Brentford FC!
